GC-CODED Research Core Vouchers
This Target Research Program provides direct research support to GC-CODED investigators to offset expense(s) for core facility services for dental-related research. It is expected that the award will either augment a currently funded application or help provide critical preliminary data for an extramural application. Applicants may apply for up to $2000 in direct research support. Allowable expenses include payments to any UAB institutional core facility. Other expenses are not allowed. Any work supported by this program requires appropriate regulatory approvals as applicable.
Applicants should provide a one-page outline of the project, how the use of the core facility will help advance the project, what will be enabled by the investment (e.g., manuscript, grant application, additional aims), and a budget with justification including sample sizes and sample size justification.

Pilot and Feasibility Grants
GC-CODED offers pilot and feasibility grants for emerging faculty, including scientist and research IV and V, and senior post-doctoral fellows. Strong preference is given to proposals addressing genetic disorders of the craniofacial region, including dentition. RFA announcements are posted throughout the year.
Request for pilot & feasibility project applications
The Global Center for Craniofacial, Oral and Dental Disorders (GC‐CODED) is requesting applications for pilot and feasibility grants. We hope to fund two P&F applications for up to $50,000 each. Strong preference will be given to proposals addressing the oral microbiome, genetics of craniofacial/dental disorders, oral cancers, and repair/regenerative strategies.
Applications from established PIs designed to generate preliminary data for extramural grant applications are highly encouraged. Junior faculty and research scientists can also apply. Applications must be submitted via the UAB InfoReady Portal by February 28, 2026.
