Dr. Shadi S. Martin served as the Founding Dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she was granted Founding Dean and Professor Emerita status. Throughout her career, she has held various senior academic leadership roles, including Vice Provost for Graduate and International Education, Dean of the Graduate School, Chief International Officer, Founding Dean and Program Director.
Dr. Martin has extensive background in international development and education, as well as a robust record of scholarship related to gerontology, cancer and mental health. Her academic and professional contributions reflect a deep commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across health, social sciences, and global education. She is dedicated to educating, supporting, and mentoring students to achieve their fullest potential and to make a positive impact in the world.
