Sixth Floor

Metabolic Kitchen
The renovation of the 6th floor includes a metabolic kitchen. This is an industrial-sized facility with professional-grade equipment that is staffed by registered dietitians who design, prepare, and package meals for each research study based in our department. The metabolic kitchen is designed to be a production facility that can mass produce menus and meals for large studies.

Teaching Kitchen
The updates also include a teaching kitchen that is being used for many different audiences of learners. We welcome a wide range of participants from students in any of our Nutrition Sciences programs to community members who are living with chronic conditions like obesity and diabetes. The kitchen has state-of-the-art audio/visual technology for multimodal learning and research. And it is designed so lectures can be delivered in a virtual setting and/or recorded for online learning.
