Benjamin Wei, M.D., a professor in the UAB Department of Surgery and the program director of the UAB Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency in the UAB Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, has been named the inaugural recipient of the Charles W. Breaux, Sr. and Ann K. Breaux Endowed Professorship in Cardiothoracic Surgery. This endowed professorship was established to recognize and support exemplary faculty who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing the field of cardiothoracic surgery through clinical excellence, academic achievement and service to the institution.
