The UAB General Surgery Residency Program honored its chief residents, as well as supporting faculty and residents across the program, at an annual awards day celebration.

“Our annual Resident Award Day is always a bittersweet milestone as we reflect on the successes of the past year,” said General Surgery Residency Program Director Britney Corey, M.D., MACM. “This year’s group of graduating residents are truly exceptional and we are proud of their accomplishments during their time at UAB and look forward to seeing them excel in all aspects of their lives and careers.”

Program leadership recognized several residents with awards for their leadership and performance, and residents presented faculty and division awards as well. A new category of awards for advanced practice providers (APPs) was introduced this year.
