On February 5, 2026, Heersink School of Medicine celebrated the 2026 Food Fair. Each department was represented by a table highlighting traditions or favorite food/drink from around the world. The Department of Medical Education was represented by the theme of “Sips Around the World.”
Along with Dale Colorado, D.O., MPH, assistant dean for Student Experience, students helped coordinated the table to bring fun beverages to the event. “The idea was to create an interactive, travel-themed drink experience featuring one signature tasting flight of four mini beverages that highlight different cultures,” said Bria Gamble, MS4 and director of the Student Advisory Board.
Gamble was joined by fellow students Amy Fan, Neel Patel, and Laci Turner for table planning. On the day of the event, the table was worked by Gamble and Fan as well as Sydney Booth, Isabela Lamadrid, and Elise Fitzgerald.
The interactive element for the table came in the form of photography. Attendees had the opportunity to take a Polaroid of themselves with their drinks and friends. Gamble described it as “take a sip and take a pic” in order to commemorate the fun memories. The four drinks offered were Mango Lassi, Sorrel, Earl Gray Milk Boba Tea, and Strawberry Lemon tea representing African American/Caribbean, East Asian, and South Asian traditions.
