Pongtawat was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. With a deep love for Biology since high school, he decided to pursue the Internal Medicine/Medical Genetics track in his fifth year of medical school. Multiple strokes of faith brought him to set foot in the states via the NIH scholarship in 2018. The age-defining medical education system here inspires him to apply for the residency program, which he ultimately found his love in this meaningful program at the UAB. He is looking forward to experiencing southern food and growing up in this next chapter of his life.
