End of Year Reception 2024 38 1

The first cohort of CU2RE students graduated in 2024. Among this cohort of six students, four opted to continue their practice in primary care with three matching into Family Medicine and one matching into Medicine-Pediatrics. Two other CU2RE graduates matched into Obstetrics/Gynecology and Otolaryngology.

    CU²RE students discuss Birmingham's history at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Sites throughout Alabama hold important lessons about the cultural and the socioeconomic barriers to health care patients might face.

    CU²RE students who attended the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium have the opportunitiy to join several lectures and participate in hands-on activities, like suturing, point-of-care ultrasound, and dermatology workshops.

    Learning from Leaders

    Students in the CU²RE program enjoy robust summer learning opportunities from a variety of faculty covering topics such as developing as leaders in medicine, motivational interviewing, and scholarly activity and research.
