About Us
UAB Real Estate Services provides strategic and comprehensive real estate services and lease management that align with and support the university’s strategic plan and institutional goals. In addition, this office is instrumental in facilitating the Campus Master Plan. This office collaborates with Planning Design & Construction as well as administrative, academic and hospital units to ensure critical communication and coordination. UAB Real Estate collaborates with UAB Advancement for the approval and acquisition of property gifts from donors.

Overview
The Office of Real Estate negotiates all real estate transactions and oversees the administration and management of the university’s real estate portfolio management, providing the following services:
- Acquisitions
- Dispositions
- All leasing activities
- General support & consultation for university real estate needs and development
- Maintenance of real estate records
- Lease administration, audit and analysis
- Management and disposition of real estate gifts
- Easements
- Access and license agreements

Acquisitions & Dispositions
- Manages the acquisition/disposition of all properties
- Negotiates deal terms for all real estate transactions
- Manages each transaction’s due diligence process
- Coordinates/facilitates the transition of property into/from UAB property inventory

Leasing
- Works with individual departments with space needs (on campus/off campus)
- Provides negotiation, management and administrative services for all university real estate leases
- Manages portfolio of 125 active leases on behalf of the university
