I learned from the CEM program that we manage processes, but we lead people. We also have a cycle that we go through; we explore, we experiment, and we evolve. The value of that exploration has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone to experiment with more responsibility. I could not have evolved more while at UAB and I owe it all to this program.

What attracted me to the UAB CEM program was that all ten classes were real-world and relevant. The classes have made me more knowledge, confident, and productive, and I learned current software technology that was not available as an undergraduate.

I have been fortunate to find a position that allows me to use and grow my knowledge that I received from this program. It has put me on the fast track to becoming a project manager.

Thanks to this amazing program, I was just promoted to Civil Engineer I status by the county where I work. One of the best parts of the program are the friends that I have made from the very first group project. We communicate (network) multiple times per day, on weekends and even between terms.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone at the CECM program for empowering me with the tools to change my life for the better.

Every class brought something positive to the table. Having hands-on access to the P6 Scheduling and Building Information Modeling software was just great. The program tested our perseverance and helped build professional character.

I joined the CEM program to enhance my personal and professional development, and to assume a greater responsibility in my current field. I looked at similar programs from other colleges, but after doing a comparison I decided that the UAB program would better suite me.

Leaving the military and preparing to return to the civilian construction industry after almost eleven years, I knew that I would need to retool my construction knowledge to be competitive for employment. The CEM program offered the online flexibility that I needed, and it covered the current relevant course material. The CEM classes are well structured, highly informative, and the instructors are of high caliper. The CEM program administration has been simply amazing because they are so helpful and very responsive.

All of the classes are absolutely amazing. Even though they are construction management oriented, they truly apply to other fields like design, architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture. I am very grateful for the CEM program and super excited about the future.

The CEM courses quickly improved my construction knowledge, leadership abilities, critical thinking skills, and made me much more confident. I started the CEM program to expand my career and it has exceeded my expectations. The knowledge, skills and abilities gained from the CEM degree program has been pragmatic in all aspects of my construction business. It also inspired me to expand plan to include program and project management services as part of my construction company portfolio. As a result, I entered an alliance with a larger firm, and we just landed a very large construction management contract. This would not be possible without my UAB experience.

It has not been easy juggling a career, family, personal life, and graduate school, but the CEM program has been very helpful. The commitment from the faculty and staff makes it quite evident why the program is so highly ranked.
