The USGA Senate consists of students representing the seven undergraduate schools of UAB. The Senate originates, sponsors, and passes bills and amendments to the USGA Constitution and Code of Laws. Senate also originates resolutions expressing the concerns and opinions of the student body. Senators are elected in the Spring, and the number of Senators is determined by student enrollment in each undergraduate school represented.
Senators strive to produce and maintain the optimal college experience, both in and out of the classroom. They work to address student concerns, approve allocations of funding to student organizations, and collaborate with university administration to enhance student life. The Senate meets regularly during the academic year and encourages active student engagement, transparency, and accountability in governance.
Represented Schools:
- College of Arts & Sciences
- Collat School of Business

- School of Engineering
- School of Health Professions

Senate meets formally biweekly. We encourage all UAB undergraduate students to attend formal meetings to voice their concerns in front of their elected student leaders. Check out the biweekly meeting schedule here.
Meeting Records Archive
The UAB Undergraduate Student Government Association (USGA) Meeting Records Archive, established in 2025 by the Division of Communications, serves as the centralized repository for former meeting details of the USGA. This archive includes all meetings held amongst the Senate and its respective Committees and Caucuses.
The archive is hosted on Box and is accessible to any UAB student, faculty, or staff member. It is intended to disclose internal operations of the USGA to allow the student body to engage with the organization collaboratively by encouraging outreach to active Senators.
