Nancy Borkowski, DBA, CPA, FACHE, FHFMA, distinguished professor in the UAB Department of Health Services Administration, has been named editor of the Journal of Health Administration Education (JHAE), effective July 1, 2025. The JHAE is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal that addresses key issues in healthcare management and health policy education nationally and internationally.
The JHAE, which began in 2007, is a publication of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) that chronicles educational research, case studies, and essays by leading health administration educators and professionals.
“I am honored to accept the position of Editor for the JHAE and look forward to serving our health administration education research scholarly community by shaping the future of our field and maintaining the journal's distinguished reputation,” said Dr. Borkowski
Borkowski will be responsible for all aspects in maintaining the publication’s reputation as the premier journal of its kind and for presenting diverse perspectives on all levels of education in health administration, health care management, health sector management, and other related fields.
She will work in partnership with the Board of Directors of AUPHA to define the overall strategic direction for the Journal and will be responsible for selecting articles and the editing of journal contents for four issues per year. Borkowski will also develop ancillary materials that include use of the journal in teaching.
The JHAE is one of the only professional publications in this field and it is regarded as setting a standard in health administration education research.
