The University of Alabama at Birmingham M.S. in Genetic Counseling (MSGC) program is offering two upcoming events for prospective students:

  1. An open house for general information about the UAB MSGC Program
  2. One-on-one sessions with faculty for students to further develop their application materials

The MSGC program, a part of the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences in the School of Health Professions opens a new website, encourages all committed future program applicants to attend both events or, if already familiar with the program, just the Application Workshop.

Open House

The Open House session is a virtual 30-minute session that offers general information about the program. It is intended for undergraduate students who are considering applying to the program.

This virtual event will be Wednesday, October 22, 2024, from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. CST.

Application Workshops

The Application Workshop sessions are intended for students who are ready to apply to our program and would like further guidance on their application materials.

These will be individually scheduled, ten-minute, one-on-one sessions with UAB Genetic Counseling faculty who will offer tips and suggestions about the application process. This includes feedback on your CV or personal statement, or any part of the application that you may have questions about.
