The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing continues to produce nurse leaders across nursing and health care. Three alumni and UAB School of Nursing Dean and Fay B. Ireland Endowed Chair in Nursing Doreen C. Harper, PhD, RN, FAAN, have been named by the Birmingham Business Journal as “Who’s Who in Health Care” for 2021. These leaders have been recognized for their impact and influence on nursing and health care in metro Birmingham.

Those recognized are:

• Sherry Cole, MSN, RN (BSN 1982, MSN 1987) - Chief Nursing Officer for Grandview Medical Center
• Andrew Loehr, DNP, RN, CNML, CPNP (DNP 2018) - Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Nursing Officer for Children’s of Alabama
• Anthony Patterson (BSN 1990) - CEO of UAB Hospital
• Doreen Harper, PhD, RN, FAAN - UAB School of Nursing Dean and Fay B. Ireland Endowed Chair in Nursing
