The world is interconnected and so are our programs. From caring for a hospital patient with malaria who contracted it while overseas, to packing food with the Stop Hunger Now project to send to victims of a natural disaster, to community education on how to care for diabetes patients in rural Alabama, all of our work is global.

The UAB School of Nursing has developed the Global Health Action Framework, after adopting the following definition for global health:

“An area for practice, teaching, research, or service that transcends boundaries with the intent of improving health, achieving equity and social justice for all people in support of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
