Siwakoti was born in Nepal and completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at Tribhuvan University. She earned her M.D. from the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences before pursuing residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a fellowship in Endocrinology at Yale University. She was thrilled to match at UAB Radiation Oncology, drawn by its stellar reputation, access to cutting-edge technology, dedicated mentors, and a highly collegial group of residents. Passionate about cancer care, she feels honored to join a team so deeply invested in advancing patient outcomes.

Matthew Trotta, M.D.

Trotta is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and earned his degree in microbiology from The Ohio State University. He spent a gap year conducting leukemia and lymphoma research at the University of Pittsburgh before attending medical school at West Virginia University, where he also completed a Transitional Year internship. He was drawn to UAB for its reputation in training outstanding radiation oncology residents and the high regard past residents expressed for the program. He also appreciated Birmingham’s affordability, thriving food scene, and access to outdoor activities like golf and hiking—making it a perfect fit both professionally and personally.
