Department names new leaders
The UAB Department of Urology recently launched a new leadership page to recognize and celebrate both established and newly created and appointed leadership positions in the department. A special congratulations to these newly named leaders!
- Adam Baumgarten, M.D., MBA: Vice Chair, Clinical Affairs
- Jeffrey Nix, M.D., MSHA: Chief, Urologic Oncology
- Tracey Wilson, M.D.: Promotion and Tenure Committee Chair
- Carmen Tong, D.O.: Medical Student Urology Clerkship Director
- Timothy Boswell, M.D.: Assistant Program Director, Urology Residency
- Joel Funk, M.D.: Ambulatory Quality Officer
Celebrating recent leadership development graduates
In addition to our department recognizing leaders from within, several of our team members have been honored recently for graduating from UAB-affiliated leadership development programs.
- Adam Baumgarten, M.D., MBA, graduated from the 10th cohort of UAB Medicine Institute for Leadership in June 2025.
- Tracey Wilson, M.D., FACS, graduated from the third cohort of the UAB Medicine Emerging Leaders Series in June 2025.
- Stacy Tanaka, M.D., FAAP, FACS, graduated from the fourth cohort of UAB Momentum Leaders in Medicine in May 2025.
