Amy shares what she enjoys most about her work and the passions that fuel her at work and at home.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Amy: I truly enjoy my job. Since joining the department, everyone has been incredibly open and helpful, always willing to guide me as I learn my responsibilities. One of the things I appreciate most about working at UAB is the endless possibilities for growth and advancement.
I particularly enjoyed handling credentialing for the physicians. It was a rewarding experience that challenged me in the best ways. I thrive when I’m busy and take pride in being a go-getter. I’m driven to excel in everything I take on, and that mindset carries through not only in my work but in all areas of my life.
What advice would you give to someone in a new in your role or department?
Amy: If you’re new to the department, you’ll like it; everyone is friendly and helpful. Since I’ve been here, everybody has been eager to help me learn.
If you had to pick a theme song that played every time you walked into a room, what would it be?
Amy: I would pick the song “This Girl is on Fire,” by Alicia Keys.
What’s your favorite work memory so far
Amy: My favorite work memory is meeting all the nice people I’ve enjoyed working with. They have been so helpful while I’m learning my job.
Do you have any hobbies or side passions?
Amy: I make T-shirts and other items like signs and backpacks using a Cricut machine. I’m also getting ready to learn how to do monograms, which is something I’ve always wanted to try. I’m very excited about this next hobby.
