The UAB Department of Urology is pleased to announce a partnership with three global leaders in healthcare technology and pharmaceuticals to support its premier endourology fellowship program.

The UAB Endourology Fellowship has been funded in part with generous support from Boston Scientific, Novo Nordisk, and Calyxo. This support will help the fellowship continue and grow its established reputation as a coveted training track in the field of endourology.

“We are deeply grateful to our industry partners for their commitment to advancing education and training in endourology,” said Kyle Wood, M.D., fellowship program director. “Their support ensures that our fellows receive world-class training and go on to become the next generation of leaders.”

The UAB Endourology Fellowship is designed to train the next generation of leaders in minimally invasive urologic surgery. Accredited by the Endourological Society, the program provides one- or two-year training tracks under the direction of Wood and co-director Joe Crivelli, M.D., MSPH.

Fellows gain extensive hands-on experience in advanced endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques with a strong emphasis on treating complex kidney stone disease. In addition to clinical training, the fellowship integrates robust research opportunities, fostering innovation and academic growth. With access to UAB’s state-of-the-art facilities and a high-volume surgical practice, fellows are exceptionally well-prepared for careers in academic medicine or specialized clinical practice.
