The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Pediatrics is proud to highlight Ginger Glover, Pediatrics Third Party Follow-Up Representative with the Department of Pediatrics Billing team.
With an impressive 25 years of service, which she celebrated in May 2025, Glover has built a career defined by resilience, curiosity and commitment. She says the constant opportunities to grow and learn are a major reason she has stayed with UAB throughout her career. “I am constantly learning,” said Glover. “My job is never boring and always a challenge.”
Her role varies each day, reflecting the fast-paced nature of billing and patient support. On any given day, she may be answering phones and assisting families with their accounts, conducting detailed follow-up on claims, contacting insurance companies or keying charges. She describes her work as dynamic and full of problem-solving, noting that no two days are the same.
When asked to describe her job in one word, she admits it is difficult to choose just one, but “never boring” comes closest. The variety in her workload and the constant thinking involved keep her energized and motivated.
Outside of work, Glover is a devoted fan of Mexican food. She jokes that she loves it so much she could “be hooked up to an IV of queso and be a happy camper.”
Among her proudest accomplishments is contributing to a world-renowned hospital and being part of its growth and achievements over the years. She takes pride in the innovations happening at UAB and the research that continues to shape the future of medicine. Looking ahead, Glover hopes to reach 30 years of service, a milestone that would reflect her remarkable dedication to the department and its mission.
