The UAB Department of Pathology hosted its third annual Staff Retreat on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The day-long event featured an array of speakers and team activities.
After breakfast and a warm welcome by Dr. Cristina Magi-Galluzzi, Robert and Ruth Anderson Endowed Chair in Pathology, Amie Stephens, Executive Administrator, and Janiece Finkley, Administrative Director, attendees enjoyed hearing the presentation "Leading You: Empowering Leadership Strategies for Wellbeing and Work" by Dr. Laurence Boitet, an assistant professor in the UAB Department of Medical Education.
Other presentations throughout the day included "Crafting Your Professional Identity: The Path to Collaborative Excellence" by Ivory Sirmans from the UAB Office of Access and Engagement and "Multigenerational Workforce, Bringing Together Generations for a Better UAB" by Amber Anderson from the UAB Learning and Development Office.
"We had a wonderful time getting to know each other better at the UAB Pathology Staff Retreat," said Jessica Hodges, HRP Generalist. "I'm already looking forward to next year's retreat."
Attendees participated in staff introductions and several games over the course of the day. Activities featured a coloring contest and named winners Hannah Buckelew, Communications Manager, and Anita Pinner, Grants Administrator I.
