The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to welcome Anna Parker as healthcare management undergraduate intern in the Chair’s Office.

Parker is a senior at UAB majoring in healthcare management, with a projected graduation date of August 2025. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she began her college career at the University of South Alabama studying business management before transferring to UAB and discovering her passion for healthcare.

During her time at UAB, Parker has balanced academics with professional experience in student services and healthcare settings. She is also the co-founder of Healthcare Advocacy for Future Leaders, a student organization she plans to develop into a nonprofit focused on service and community engagement.

This summer, she will complete her internship with the Department of Neurosurgery while collaborating on a research project expected to be published after graduation. Her future goals include earning a medical coding certification, pursuing a Master of Public Health, completing a fellowship in health policy or research and building a career in health policy.

In her free time, Parker enjoys spending time with family, traveling, writing and being outdoors.
