The UAB Heersink School of Medicine is proud to announce the incoming Orthopaedic Surgery fellows for the 2026–2027 academic year. Following a successful Match Day, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery welcomes a distinguished group of physicians who will continue their advanced training in specialized fellowship programs.

Trauma Fellowship

  • Bradley Carlson, MD – Residency: Loma Linda University Health Education Consortium

Spine Fellowship

  • Daniel de los Cobos, MD – Residency: Saint Louis University

Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship (GME/ACGME)

  • Michael Grzelak, MD – Residency: MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC
  • Sage Duddleston, MD – Residency: Ochsner Clinic Foundation, New Orleans, LA
  • Jack Buchan, MD – Residency: MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC

These fellows will join one of the nation’s premier academic Orthopaedic departments, gaining hands-on experience in a high-volume, high-acuity environment while working alongside nationally recognized faculty.
