Visiting Rotation Information

Dates of rotations are set by the registrar's office and are not flexible.  Rotations are only offered in four-week blocks. Two-week rotations are not available.  Stipends are not available through the Internal Medicine Residency Program for visiting students. Applications will be reviewed early April, and acceptances will be made on a rolling basis starting mid-April. Applications submitted after July 1 will not be reviewed.

Though participating in a visiting student rotation does not guarantee an interview with the UAB Internal Medicine Residency Program, we would love to meet you while you’re here.  We encourage visiting students to attend noon conferences and morning reports, where they will have an opportunity to interact with our program leadership and chief residents. Additionally, program leadership is happy to meet with visiting students during their rotation.

The number of students selected for visiting rotations in a clinical specialty will be strictly determined by each medicine division based on size of teams, number of team members, etc.
