IM Residents KeAndrea Titer and Diego FernandezIn December, residents from our diversity and wellness committees celebrated the season by cooking up a hearty holiday supper to share with the folks at the American Cancer Society's Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge—an organization that provides housing free of charge to cancer patients and their families during their course of treatment.

Patient Care Connect Program Medical Director Gabrielle Rocque, MDThe Association of Community Cancer Centers recently recognized UAB’s Patient Care Connect Program with its prestigious Innovator Award for its “forward-thinking” approach to improve access and quality of care. Patient Care Connect is a lay navigation program directed by Gabrielle Rocque, MD (Assistant Professor, Hematology and Oncology). The program’s results have been impressive, both in cost savings and patient satisfaction.
