Marketing & Communications uses two approved tools for social media scheduling and reporting: Buffer Opens an external link. (free) and Sprout Opens an external link. (premium). These are UAB's enterprise-wide social media management tools approved by IT, Legal, and Marketing & Communications. UAB departments should not use other popular scheduling tools, even the free versions. When you sign up for another tool, for example, you are agreeing to "terms & conditions" on behalf of UAB that have not been reviewed by UAB's legal and purchasing teams.

You should seek permission and approval if you want to try another tool.

With Buffer, you can:

  • Manage your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and TikTok) from a single platform.
  • Schedule posts on all social media channels in one platform.
  • Understand social media performance based on your brand's KPI's.

Adobe Express

Adobe Express is an online application within Adobe Creative Cloud that allows users to easily design graphics and templates for flyers, posters, invitations, social media, and more. Since UAB is a Creative Cloud campus (see box below), users across the institution can now access this free, easy-to-use tool.

Anyone can use Adobe Express after requesting access to the Creative Cloud. There is no need to purchase a license or pay for an account to create your projects.

UAB does not support the use of Canva or other design tools.
