Differentation Tags

Differentiation Tags are a new Canvas feature that allows instructors to create custom sets of students within a course for various purposes. For instance, instructors can easily assign quizzes, assignments, content pages, modules or message students with a particular differentiation tag. Differentation tags cannot be seen by students.

Discussion Checkpoints

Canvas Discussion Checkpoints now allow instructors to encourage structured discussions by setting deadlines for replies in addition to original post due dates. Checkpoints work with individual and group discussions.

Dyslexia Friendly Font

Available in Canvas user settings is a Dyslexia Friendly Font feature option which makes text easier to read for some users with dyslexia. When enabled in an individual user’s profile settings, the OpenDyslexic becomes their default font.
