Training the next generation
Students who are in the process of earning a D.M.D. (dental degree) provide services following a specified treatment sequence. The dental students are supervised by our expert team of faculty and supported by our professional staff. While being a patient of a dental student offers attractive fees, the time required can be longer.

To better serve patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) and those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH), we offer free video interpreting services through LanguageLine Solutions. For Patients Who Speak Languages Other Than English - Real-time interpretation via video, audio, and on-demand over-the-phone interpreting for conversations with your care team, billing staff, and more.

- Language identification tools to help us determine your needs quickly.
 For Patients Who Are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Have Speech or Visual Impairments - American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters available through LanguageLine Solutions.
- Assistance for visually impaired patients, including qualified interpreters, staff reading important documents aloud.
- Written materials to support communication for patients with speech impairments.
 These services are always free of charge and available at all UAB Dentistry locations. Our team is trained to ensure effective communication so our patients can make informed decisions about their care.
