The “Opera in One Act,” composed by UAB Music Professor Craig Brandwein with libretto by David Sellers, features a cast of singers, and many instrumentalists, who are recent graduates of the UAB music program.

This past fall, Jill Clements, Ph.D., associate professor of English and co-director of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies (AMRS) minor, delivered a public lecture titled “The Walking Dead: Revenants & Vampires in Medieval Iceland” at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton.

Naomi Ortiz is not afraid of being open to life’s surprises. When she was no longer able to play volleyball, Ortiz found support and purpose in the Department of English.
