The Office of Access and Engagement offers voluntary education1 through the Blazer Blueprint Learning Plan as a part of the new Community Education programming. The Blazer Blueprint is a series of learning modules that offer practical tools to succeed in academic and professional settings. Each learning module aims to help participants define their professional identity, strengthen communication and collaboration skills, and build their professional toolbox.

Civility at UAB
In Civility at UAB, participants will explore how differing perspectives, backgrounds, and beliefs impact workplace interactions and relationships. This course presents strategies to navigate and embrace civility and respect, to foster a more welcoming and harmonious work environment.
Creating Collaborative Environments
In Creating Collaborative Environments, participants will have the opportunity to learn skills that promote an environment of respect and collaboration. This course aims to empower people to discover their professional identity. Allowing individuals to show up as their authentic selves while creating space for others to do the same, fostering a culture of mutual respect and teamwork.
Language and Respect
In Language and Respect, participants will have the opportunity to learn about effective communication. This course emphasizes unique perspectives and expressions and provides strategies for listening to others with an open mind. The Language and Respect module continues the conversation about how individuals can use language to create and promote respectful and collaborative work environments.
Bystander Intervention
In Bystander Intervention, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the Bystander Intervention Model and strategies used for noticing and intervening with harassing behaviors related to all types of discrimination. This course aims to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize and address uncivil behavior to foster a safer and welcoming campus environment.
