In observance of the upcoming winter break and holidays, UAB Transportation will implement some service changes to Blazer Express routes and Safety Escort services.

Please be advised of the following route and service changes:

Winter Break Service (Dec. 13-Jan. 12)

From Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, through Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, the Green-North, Green-South and Purple routes will not operate.

Holiday Service Suspensions

In observance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays, there will be no Blazer Express, Highland Shuttle or Blaze Ride service on the following dates:

• Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26.
• Thursday, Jan. 1, and Friday, Jan. 2.

Safety Escort Holiday Schedule

UAB Police will assume responsibility for the night Safety Escort service during the following times. Requests may be made by calling 205-934-8772:

Christmas Holiday

• Wednesday, Dec. 24: 9 p.m. until Thursday, Dec. 25, at 5:30 a.m.
• Thursday, Dec. 25: 9 p.m. until Friday, Dec. 26, at 5:30 a.m.

New Year's Holiday

• Wednesday, Dec. 31: 9 p.m. until Thursday, Jan. 1, at 5:30 a.m.
• Thursday, Jan. 1: 9 p.m. until Friday, Jan. 2, at 5:30 a.m.
