The University of Alabama at Birmingham Veterans Services office hosted its 13th Annual Veterans Day Wreath Laying Ceremony on Nov. 11, bringing together students, faculty, staff and community members to honor the courage, sacrifice and legacy of U.S. military veterans.

The event, held at noon in Ballrooms C and D of the Hill Student Center, featured remarks from Retired Ninth Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy James L. Herdt, who delivered a keynote address recognizing the service and resilience of veterans. The ceremony also included the traditional saluting of the wreath by a UAB student veteran.

Presented by UAB Student Affairs and Veterans Services, the ceremony is an annual tradition designed to commemorate Veterans Day and acknowledge the contributions of military-connected members of the UAB community.

UAB encourages the campus and surrounding community to continue supporting and recognizing veterans throughout the year.
