Last year, UAB Student Affairs launched the Feel Your Best campaign to promote holistic wellbeing and encourage students to build daily habits that support their physical, mental and emotional health.

The campuswide initiative highlights nine evidence-based wellbeing behaviors that contribute to overall student success: human connection, time in nature, adequate sleep, regular movement, nutritious eating, creative expression, gratitude, service, and rest and relaxation. The campaign emphasizes that most of these practices are accessible to students with little to no financial cost.

This month, November, we close out with gratitude. Gratitude is a powerful practice that helps balance out negative thoughts and builds resilience. Appreciating the positive aspects of life cultivates a more optimistic look.

“Feel Your Best” serves as an educational and engagement platform that connects students with resources, programs and simple strategies they can integrate into everyday campus life to improve wellbeing and balance.
