Madeha Javed, a senior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), recently earned statewide recognition for her outstanding work in Communication Studies and Public Relations. She took home nine top honors during the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA) Student Awards ceremony.

An Honors College student double majoring in Political Science (with a concentration in global politics and policy) and Communication Studies (with a concentration in public relations), Javed competed against students from universities statewide. Her work stood out in individual and team categories, showcasing her creativity and strategic execution.

Javed received seven individual awards for her senior public relations campaign for Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School and social media work with the PRCA/PRSSA at UAB, including:

  • Award of Excellence - Individual Proposal for Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School

She also received two group awards for her contributions to the Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School public relations campaign:

Javed has worked with Student Affairs Marketing and Communications (SAMAC) as a social media content creator since September 2022. She has produced content and contributed ideas that have enhanced audience engagement and traffic to the main UAB Students social media accounts, as well as accounts that are operated by departments within Student Affairs.

She will graduate on Saturday, May 3, during UAB’s spring undergraduate commencement.
