Research Interests

My research interests include discovering how chronic disease outcomes can be improved through nutrition, and how changes to diet quality, macronutrient composition, and body weight can affect the risk factors of chronic metabolic diseases. I am specifically interested in how nutrition can impact cancer prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Why did you decide to pursue a PhD?

I decided to pursue a PhD to learn how to design experiments and interventions that would allow me to use nutrition to improve health.

Why UAB?

Growing up around the Birmingham area, I have always loved the culture of UAB and what it stands for. I know that pursuing my PhD at UAB will allow me to surround myself with faculty who strive to learn and grow as much as I do.

Any special interests, hobbies, or fun facts?

My special interests and hobbies include weightlifting, golf, and music.
