Assistant Professor Deborah K. Walker, DNP, CRNP, NP-C, FNP-BC, AOCN, is president-elect of the Oncology Nursing Society Foundation, and will serve a one-year term as president beginning June 1, 2016. Walker, who has been a member of the organization’s Board of Trustees since 2013, was elected to the office by her fellow board members.
The Oncology Nursing Society is a professional association of more than 35,000 members committed to promoting excellence in oncology nursing and the transformation of cancer care. Since 1975, the Oncology Nursing Society has provided a professional community for oncology nurses, developed evidence-based education programs and treatment information, and advocated for patient care, all in an effort to improve quality of life and outcomes for patients with cancer and their families.
