Faculty and students attend AANA annual congress

AANA2 for wbSeveral students and faculty members from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing attended the 2014 American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Annual Congress, held September 13-16 in Orlando, Fla.

Elizabeth Fuller, nurse anesthesia student in the UAB School of Nursing received the 2014 Student Excellence Award and was honored at AANA Annual Congress Student Luncheon on September 15. Assistant Professor Todd Hicks, MSN CRNA, Associate Professor Elizabeth Wright, PhD, MNA, CRNA and Dean Doreen Harper, PhD, FAAN, RN, were also in attendance.AANA for web
The School hosted an alumni and friends reception on the evening of September 15 after the awards ceremony. Wright and Harper shared congratulatory remarks for Elizabeth Fuller and expressed their excitement for the Nurse Anesthesia program's success at the UAB School of Nursing.

Each year the AANA seeks to provide a variety of educational topics at this conference which will develop the maximal effectiveness of SRNAs in their roles as healthcare providers in diverse settings across the nation.
