The UAB surgery clinic will be led by Greg Kennedy, M.D., Ph.D., the John H. Blue Chair of General Surgery and the director of the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. Kennedy will be seeing patients at the Winfield clinic and also performing surgeries at Northwest Regional Health. UAB is also adding surgeon Joseph Walker, M.D., who will see patients at both facilities. Walker earned his medical degree at UAB and completed residency training at Brookwood Baptist Health.

“The UAB surgery clinic is another example of how UAB and Northwest Regional Health are working together to improve health care in our region,” said Michael Windham, CEO of Northwest Regional Health. “We are excited to welcome Dr. Kennedy to our community and medical staff.”

The UAB surgery clinic will open Aug. 12 and is already accepting appointments. To schedule an appointment or for more information, please call 205-487-7661.
