The Junior Faculty Exchange Program involves a reciprocal exchange of a Department of Surgery Assistant and Associate Professor-level faculty from UAB and several institutions during the academic year.

The program was generated to construct an academic partnership between the participating surgical departments and to provide a mechanism for junior faculty to disseminate their research, increase their networks and learn from leaders and experts outside of their home institution.

In past years, a usual visit lasts two or three days, and the visiting faculty member typically delivers a lecture to students and residents, as well as a section/division-level lecture, with some faculty presenting at departmental grand rounds. 

This year, the following individuals have been selected for the faculty exchange program:

• Robert Cannon, M.D., FACS
