Dr. Prabhakaran is a graduate of Madaras Medical College’s School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and critical care medicine fellowship here at UAB. Dr. Prabhakaran has interests in Creating a model of sustainable and locally relevant education for providers caring for critically ill children in resource-limited settings across the world but primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes synchronous and asynchronous sessions. Developing the structure and framework of virtual PICU rounds which we plan on conducting on a regular basis. Developing methods to evaluate the content as well a delivery platform of the educational content in a systematic fashion. Ventilator liberation and the evaluation and incorporation of additional strategies to facilitate liberation without increasing the length of ventilation.
