Interests

While completing her fellowship, she obtained a Masters in Science and Public Health in Clinical and Translational Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Dr. Alva is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.  Her clinical interests include the care of patients with central nervous system tumors and solid tumors.  In addition, Dr. Alva is interested in pediatric cancer predisposition syndromes and cancer screening, with the goal to identify cancer in its earliest stages and provide better outcomes for children with these diseases.
