Biography

Dr. Petitt grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science at Auburn University in 2016. Prior to medical school, she spent a year in Madrid, Spain, as an assistant elementary school English teacher. She returned to Alabama and received her MD at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021. During her time at UAB, she used her fluency in Spanish to volunteer as a medical interpreter and provide health screenings for Spanish-speaking patients. She completed her preliminary internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA in 2022 and her dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina in 2025. She became an assistant professor for UAB's Dermatology department in the fall of 2025. She is passionate about many areas of dermatology, including caring for all ages, managing rashes, skin cancer, and hospital consults, and looks forward to continuing to grow her interests throughout her career.
