Research rotations provide an opportunity for each student to experience the research environment in several different labs. These experiences are critical for choosing an appropriate lab/mentor for one's thesis work.
In addition to this Lab Rotation Verification form, the mentor and student are to complete and submit an evaluation of the lab rotation using one of the forms below. These forms can also be found on the forms page under "student resources" on our website. The Lab Rotation Mentor will assign a letter grade on the evaluation form to indicate the student's performance in the lab rotation.
Lab Rotation Evaluation for Student form to complete.
- This form is to be completed by the student within 10 days of completing a lab rotation.
Lab Rotation Evaluation for Mentor form to complete.
- This form is to be completed by the mentor within 10 days of completing a lab rotation.
Students must complete at least three lab rotations in three different labs prior to joining a thesis lab.

- Early Summer 2026: June 1 - July 31, 2026
- Early Fall 2026: August 10 - October 10, 2026
- Late Fall 2026: October 12 - December 11, 2026
- Early Spring 2027: January 11 - March 12, 2027
- Late Spring 2027: March 15 - May 14, 2027 (if needed)
