Earlier this summer, Alan Eberhardt, Ph.D., professor and associate chair of education in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was awarded the 2025 Robert M. Nerem Education and Mentorship Medal.

Eberhardt, who has been part of the BME faculty since 1999, received the award, which is given by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, at the ASME SB3C Summer Bioengineering Conference, which was held at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in New Mexico in June.
