About the Program

Our renowned Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is now further enhanced by this interdisciplinary degree option that brings a public health understanding to physical therapy training. Students will pursue a 42-hour Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in population health, which highlights the importance of providing treatment at the community level rather than just the patient level. Students share up to 12 credit hours of the DPT program toward the MPH so you can finish your degree in a timely manner.

This pairing of UAB's competitive, rigorous DPT program with our highly respected public health experts and curriculum ensures that you’ll graduate with a broad understanding of not only how physical therapy can transform the health of individuals but also larger groups and communities.
