Board Member

Kristy Chiles Plump received a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She currently serves as the Program Director for Community Engagement for the Alabama Maternal Health Task Force which is housed within UAB’s School of Public Health. In her current role, her biggest accomplishment is managing the “What Moms Want” listening sessions that took place during the summer of 2024 where her team along with local nonprofits and churches hosted and heard from hundreds of women across the state.She began her career working in the fields of histology and pathology after graduating college and then desired a career shift and started the UAB MPA program. Kristy credits the MPA program with helping to change her life and open more doors for her. She has been a MPA ALumni Board member since 2023. Kristy is married to Mr. DeZell Plump, and they have a son, Kellan Plump.
