"I joined USGA because I am deeply passionate about improving student experience at UAB. It is important to me that my time on campus translates into contributions that represent the student voice and drive positive change. "I had always been super shy in high school, allowing other students to speak on my behalf. When I got to college, however, I wanted to push my boundaries and be able to personally speak about my passions. Thus, I joined USGA to build my confidence and leadership skills while also helping students around me. I plan to focus on sustainability, such as promoting environmentally friendly dining items. I also hope to see more equality and accessibility for students through quiet rooms and excused class time for voting."

"Why: While UAB is already an amazing place to be, there were aspects of the university that I found troubling as a freshman, including transportation issues and a lack of ramps and handicap buttons around campus. After realizing that the student experience did not need to be shaped solely by the university and that I could play an active role in shaping the collective Blazer experience, I joined USGA as a CAS senator!"

"I joined USGA to ensure that the student body's voice was being heard. It is my goal as a Senator is to listen to what the undergraduate students of UAB want and need because everyone deserves to have their opinions heard, valued, and respected. My Senate seat does not belong to me, it belongs to those I represent."

"As a CAS Senator this year, I hope to improve equipment on campus as a means to enhance sustainability and, hence, student life on campus. For instance, we hope to switch most faucets around campus to automatic ones as a means to promote sustainability but also ease students' tensions regarding faulty/old equipment on campus."

"I ran for SGA to promote student engagement and advocate for initiatives that prioritize mental health support. At one point, I faced burnout and felt disconnected from campus, questioning my purpose here. That changed when some friends from high school decided to start a fraternity on campus, and I eagerly joined in. Through that experience, I’ve learned that Greek life can be an incredible way to get involved and build a sense of community. Now, I want to expand efforts to encourage student involvement across all areas of campus life, while also focusing on mental health support. I believe we need more resources and initiatives to help students manage stress and maintain balance, ensuring that everyone feels connected and supported in their journey.” -
