Looking for a cool class to take this summer? Then look no further than State and Local Government (PSC 221) taught by Jim Bennett. When else are you going to have the chance to take a class taught by a former Alabama Secretary of State? Bennett also served in the Alabama Senate and in several other public service positions.
What’s the class about? Here’s what you need to know: “State and local governments directly affect the lives of citizens on a daily basis, more so than the federal government. The course examines the structure, institutions, politics, and policies of state and local governments, with a particular emphasis on Alabama. The goal of the course is to help students understand the importance of state and local government in their everyday lives.”
It comes down to this: if you are interested in how politics work on a state and local level, this is the class for you. And if you don't sign up now, you probably won't get the chance to take it later. Want to learn more? Watch the video below and then go register for the class!
