I am a Ph.D. student in Dr. Jay Gatlin’s lab at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, studying the mechanisms of nuclear scaling using Xenopus laevis egg extracts and microfluidic approaches. I earned my B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wyoming, where I also served as a light microscopy specialist in the instrumentation core. My research combines in vitro reconstitution with advanced imaging to explore how microtubule asters and molecular motors shape nuclear scaling. Outside the lab, I enjoy hiking, fly fishing, skiing, and reading.
