I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biology at UAB. My research focuses on using Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies) as a model to investigate fundamental questions in genetics, chromatin biology, and aging. I am particularly interested in how changes in heterochromatin structure influence genome stability and contribute to age-related processes and neurodegeneration. My work aims to better understand the epigenetic regulation of aging and its intersection with sex-specific differences in chromatin dynamics.
